Betty Griffin

Betty Griffin - 1 term, 3 years

Betty is at the end of her first term as a Board Member. She has been a resident of Englewood over 40 years. She earned a Degree from South Carolina State University in Sociology.

Betty worked for the State of New Jersey for over 30 years. While employed with the Division of Family Development, she administered the Food Stamp Program (SNAP) and Supervised Child Care Centers in various counties.




Betty’s goals:
  • To seek immediate support on improving student test scores.
  • To assist in the development of a transparent relationship between the Board of Education and the community;
  • To develop a system of communication that keeps the district informed of matters of concern;
  • To provide leadership that understands the needs of all students in the district
  • To respond in a supportive way to students, staff, parents and community
Betty is a past President of the PTO at Dwight Morrow High School. She understands the challenge of student / parent/ teacher/administration relationships. She currently serves as a member of the Englewood Recreation Advisory Committee. Betty is a tutor in the Community and Volunteers in her grandson’s school. She is the proud mother of two sons, Sebron and Samuel.

(Betty is an incumbent running for a 2nd term on the Englewood Board of Education.)
